Echoes of Mystralia quick start — first steps in Early Access

A source-backed first-session checklist for Echoes of Mystralia Early Access, with spellcrafting experiments, launch-scope boundaries and historical demo transfer notes.

Quick Answer

Start with one spell and one Memory change, record the visible result, then expand your experiment. The current official store confirms 3 regions, 7 elements, 16 starting spells, 100+ Memories and 40+ Relics, but not a universal best build.

Checkpoint

Check the input and PC baseline

Confirm the Windows requirement and controller or keyboard setup before committing to a long run.

Step 2

Change one canvas component

Add or move one Memory at a time so you can connect a visible spell change to a single experiment.

Step 3

Record the result

Note the spell, Memory, placement, encounter and visible effect; do not turn one observation into a tier list.

Checkpoint

Expand only after the baseline repeats

Repeat a small change before adding more components, then use the full spellcrafting guide for terminology.

What this first-session checklist is for

The August 11 Early Access build is live. The official store gives the broad launch scope—3 regions, 7 elements, 16 starting spells, 100+ Memories, 40+ Relics and 50+ Altar upgrades—but it does not publish a universal first build or damage formula. This page keeps the first session reproducible.

A repeatable first session

  1. Check your baseline. The official target is Windows 10 64-bit. Confirm the input device, resolution and graphics preset before judging a spell or encounter.
  2. Start with one spell. Learn its current canvas layout before changing several components.
  3. Change one Memory or connection. Record its name, placement and the visible result. If the game does not show a specific effect, label the conclusion as unverified.
  4. Repeat once. A result that cannot be reproduced is an observation, not a stable mechanic.
  5. Build outward. After the baseline repeats, explore another Memory or form and keep a short note of the encounter context.
  6. Use the canonical pages. Read spellcrafting for system terms, Memories and Relics for records, and beginner guide for the broader Early Access loop.

Historical demo and transfer note

The demo is historical launch coverage. The official launch announcement confirms that demo saves, unlocks and progression carry into Early Access, while Echo Fragments reset to zero. The demo/controller guide covers that exception and the official controller labels; do not assume every demo counter has the same meaning after the reset.

What not to claim from one run

This page does not publish best builds, tier lists, damage numbers, boss weaknesses, drop tables or universal controller/Steam Deck results. Those claims require a current build, test setup and reproducible evidence.
